About Polly2

For years I tried to learn several languages to at least a conversational level but always found it enormously difficult to find the time, organise the material in a way that I might actually remember AND probably more importantly stay motivated whilst doing what seemed to be very hard work.

I had tried several of the existing language tutorial websites but it simply didn't happen for me.

As the power of Artificial Intelligence continued to grow at such an enormous rate, I realised that it was now possible to do things in a much more structured, scientific and successful way. Ultimately becoming a much more rewarding and enjoyable process.

Over the course of developing Polly2, I further immersed myself in the science of language acquisition, cognitive psychology and modern educational research. Rather than relying on traditional classroom methods, I built the platform around proven learning principles such as structured progression, active recall, spaced reinforcement, learning through stories and meaningful conversation.

The process became far more than a software project.

To ensure these ideas worked in the real world, I used Polly2 to learn several foreign languages myself. That experience continually shaped the platform, highlighting what motivates learners, what causes frustration and, most importantly, what genuinely helps vocabulary and grammar become permanent.

Outside language learning, I have spent more than three decades designing and building software systems, leading development teams and delivering large-scale web applications across industries including finance, gaming, cloud services and AI. Polly2 represents the culmination of more than three decades of software engineering experience combined with years of research into how people acquire new languages.

Today, Polly2 supports learners in more than 70 languages, combining structured courses, AI tutors, interactive stories, games and real-time multilingual communication into a single learning ecosystem. The goal is simple:
